I have always loved children...
I have always loved the smile, the laughter, the first step..
I have always loved the innocence...
The wonderful and adorable gift from God...
So i tried joining Sunday School and know if its teaching i like or just interacting and understanding them; Or is it nurturing talent, playing with the children, putting a smile on their faces or what is it i want to do for children since i love them so much. Teaching didn't work well for me so i had to take a break and think...
I always treasure birthdays, it doesn't have to be a big party but just celebrating my day of birth fascinates me and i just get excited...So during my birthday in August 2013 i decided why not gather two of my friends and my sister we contributed an affordable amount so as to buy items for the less fortunate children in Destined Children's Centre which was currently located at Regen around Kikuyu-Kinoo Area. We also got donations of old reading materials and clothes too from other friends we told. So we visited the children's home the 4 of us and the kids were really happy we played with them, interacted as well and we got to know their backgrounds form their caretaker.
In 2015 i suggested to my friend what we could do for children even in the Sunday School Ministry about creative arts and recycling of certain materials to produce beautiful pieces of art for children to use while been taught in class or to decorate their classes. With all that in mind i wasn't still satisfied until i remembered my birthday is around the corner, I sent a text to all my friends on Whatsapp about visiting a children's home that i came across as i was looking for homes of less fortunate children in the internet; as way of celebrating my birthday by giving back to the community and making those kids feel they are loved and can live a normal life just like everyone else. The responses were motivating, for me it's not about the numbers or the money but the will to make another child feel loved.
I thank God that now i know what i want to do for the children whether less fortunate or not, The creative arts by recycling certain materials to make something that will put a smile on every child and hence this will also save on conserving the environment.
Please join me in making this dream a reality for the Furahisha Toto initiative which is meant to put a smile on every child depending on the support you give to make them feel part of a normal society and living an ordinary life just like everyone else.
Furahisha Toto will be an yearly initiative every August to support children out there that feel they need to lead a normal life just like other children.
Thank you and God bless you.
Matthew 19: 14 says: "But Jesus said, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the
Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children."
