The other day i boarded a matatu to my work place; A lady with a kid
boarded the matatu much later from another stage... I noticed the lady is a
house help... First the kid looked like a class one pupil... She was
the one telling the house help where they will alight... I was just
shaking my head wondering what would it cost a parent to take their kid
to school? The young girl had worn her shoes wrongly, untied laces.. Now
i was really worried.. So when people alighted at a certain stage the house help wanted to alight too, but the kid insisted "Hatushuki hapa, Bado hatujafika..." What upset me so much is that the parent of this child trusted her/ his kid with a house help who is not even aware of the child's school location?....
Most parents leave or trust their kids with house helps because they are too occupied with their jobs ; hence they don't get time to take care of their children, which is a vital responsibility. I have no problem with house helps but my main concern is the future of those kids or how they even relate with other children in school or in the community.....
My main point here is parents should play their role in the family to their children, nurture them in the right manner and always make time to spend with them; hence they will know what weaknesses, strengths, problems they might be going through every other day. I believe if parents are free and open with their children and give them the love they can, the children will not find it hard sharing what they are going through. But if they spend most of the time with the house helps who they can't even open up to or who they will trust more and seem as though the house help is the parent.. there is a problem....!!
Parents should take responsibility of their own children as much as the house helps are there....
Parents should not make the house helps the "parents" of their children....
Parents should not make the teachers in school the "parents" of their children...
Parents should play their role by showing love to their children and taking care of them in the right way...and making time for them too...

Furahisha Toto...
I have always loved children...
I have always loved the smile, the laughter, the first step..
I have always loved the innocence...
The wonderful and adorable gift from God...
So i tried joining Sunday School and know if its teaching i like or just interacting and understanding them; Or is it nurturing talent, playing with the children, putting a smile on their faces or what is it i want to do for children since i love them so much. Teaching didn't work well for me so i had to take a break and think...
I always treasure birthdays, it doesn't have to be a big party but just celebrating my day of birth fascinates me and i just get excited...So during my birthday in August 2013 i decided why not gather two of my friends and my sister we contributed an affordable amount so as to buy items for the less fortunate children in Destined Children's Centre which was currently located at Regen around Kikuyu-Kinoo Area. We also got donations of old reading materials and clothes too from other friends we told. So we visited the children's home the 4 of us and the kids were really happy we played with them, interacted as well and we got to know their backgrounds form their caretaker.
In 2015 i suggested to my friend what we could do for children even in the Sunday School Ministry about creative arts and recycling of certain materials to produce beautiful pieces of art for children to use while been taught in class or to decorate their classes. With all that in mind i wasn't still satisfied until i remembered my birthday is around the corner, I sent a text to all my friends on Whatsapp about visiting a children's home that i came across as i was looking for homes of less fortunate children in the internet; as way of celebrating my birthday by giving back to the community and making those kids feel they are loved and can live a normal life just like everyone else. The responses were motivating, for me it's not about the numbers or the money but the will to make another child feel loved.
I thank God that now i know what i want to do for the children whether less fortunate or not, The creative arts by recycling certain materials to make something that will put a smile on every child and hence this will also save on conserving the environment.
Please join me in making this dream a reality for the Furahisha Toto initiative which is meant to put a smile on every child depending on the support you give to make them feel part of a normal society and living an ordinary life just like everyone else.
Furahisha Toto will be an yearly initiative every August to support children out there that feel they need to lead a normal life just like other children.
Thank you and God bless you.
Matthew 19: 14 says: "But Jesus said, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children."

Treasures aren't Just Gold and Silver...
Treasures aren't just gold and silver...
Treasures are the smiles we share everyday of our lives...
Treasures are what we value most...
Treasures are the joy and celebration of every parent before, during and after child birth..
Treasures are the steps of a child growing up...
Treasures are when a child makes his/her first step, trips, falls finds his way up with laughter...
Treasures are the children we raise and whether naughty or mischievous you still wear a smile...
Treasures are the encouragements your child gives you despite his or her age...
Treasures are just the little things that bring peace and contentment to our hearts...
Treasures are the bonds we share as parents, siblings, workmates, couples and society at large...
Treasures are the little things we do for each other...
Treasures are disguised as blessings....
Treasures aren't just gold and silver, but what the heart offers...
Treasures aren't gold and silver but the unconditional love we should share...

Birth of Toto Memories Thanks to all Mothers...
MAMA’S LOVE…
She walks for nine miles to save you,
Kills her emotions by your joy,
Weeps for your good achievements,
Fights for your rights, for love…
It’s always her day no matter what!
She leaves you no hungry,
Satisfies you due to bond,
Proud of your good example
Avoids her fear with words of hope…
She contributes much in a day…
She is your home nurse,
To her, your health is number one
She does a lot building a great bond,
Makes sure no sad tears on your eyes
The greatest supporter in all ups and downs all days…
She shares all your joy and sadness,
She is a strong umbrella in family floods,
She will always be the greatest,
She will embrace prayer always, building strong faith,
No matter what, everyday is always her day…
